Some places stay with you long after the trip ends. The rhythm of the waves. The salt air. The kind of coastline you keep coming back to.

At Sherpani, we design bags for travel that’s built on experiences like these. And because we believe in protecting the places that inspire us, we’re proud to support the Surfrider Foundation, a leading nonprofit dedicated to ocean conservation, beach preservation, and clean water initiatives.

Now through April 30, Sherpani is donating a percentage of all sales to the Surfrider Foundation—supporting their mission to keep our ocean, waves, and beaches clean and accessible to all who aim to enjoy them. And really, who doesn’t want to enjoy the Earth’s beautiful beaches and healing ocean waters?

What Is the Surfrider Foundation?

The Surfrider Foundation is a global environmental nonprofit focused on protecting our ocean, coastlines, and public beaches through grassroots activism, education, and policy change.

With a network of volunteers and local chapters, Surfrider leads impactful programs that address some of today’s most urgent environmental challenges, like plastic pollution, water quality, and coastal climate resilience.

Their work is hands-on, community-driven, and rooted in long-term impact.

Surfrider Foundation Programs Making an Impact

Surfrider’s programs are designed to create real change—from local beaches to national policy. Here’s how they’re protecting our coastlines:

1. Clean Water Initiatives

Through the Blue Water Task Force, Surfrider tests water quality at beaches and waterways, helping communities stay informed about safe swimming conditions and ocean health.

2. Plastic Pollution Reduction

Programs like Ocean Friendly Restaurants and Ocean Friendly Hotels work to reduce single-use plastics, encouraging businesses to adopt more sustainable practices that protect marine ecosystems.

3. Beach Cleanups & Coastal Protection

Surfrider organizes hundreds of beach cleanups each year, removing harmful debris and preventing plastic waste from entering the ocean.

4. Climate Action & Coastal Preservation

By restoring natural shorelines and advocating for smart environmental policies, Surfrider supports coastal resilience and climate change solutions that protect beaches for future generations.

Why Sherpani Supports Ocean Conservation

For more than 25 years, Sherpani has dedicated our time, resources, and passion to creating two things: thoughtfully designed bags for women and a more sustainable future. From the beginning, we’ve believed that great design should go hand in hand with responsible practices—and we’ve built our process around that principle.

We design durable, high quality bags that move with you through airports, across cities, and into the rhythm of everyday life. But with every product we create, we also carry a deeper responsibility. Caring for the planet and the people who call it home isn’t an afterthought for us. It’s part of how we choose to show up, every day.

Our partnership with Surfrider reflects a shared belief: Travel should leave a lasting impression—not a lasting impact on the environment.

Sustainable Travel Starts With What You Pack

Are you gearing up for your next beach trip or coastal getaway? The right bag can make all the difference. Especially when it’s designed for both function and mindful, sustainable travel.

Here are a few of our favorite eco-conscious travel bags and everyday carry essentials:

Camden Backpack
A convertible travel backpack (backpack, tote, or crossbody) made from recycled materials, with RFID protection and locking zippers. Structured, versatile, and built for everyday movement.

Getaway Travel Backpack
A spacious personal item travel backpack with a laptop sleeve and smart compartments—ideal for flights, weekend trips, and organized packing that actually stays organized.

Jetsetter Tote Bag
A refined travel tote bag with a dedicated laptop compartment and clean structure. Polished enough for work, functional enough for long-haul days.

Boston Weekender
A roomy anti-theft weekender bag with locking compartments and RFID protection. This bag is prefect for short trips, spontaneous plans, and squeezing in a little extra (just in case).

Soleil Anti-Theft Bag
A lightweight, multi-wear anti-theft bag that converts from backpack to crossbody to sling. Secure, compact, and made for hands-free exploring.

All of these bags are designed with space for the things that matter most: like reusable water bottles, low-waste essentials, and, of course, smarter packing habits.

How to Travel More Sustainably

Sustainable travel isn’t about perfection. it’s about making small, meaningful choices that reduce the environmental footprint of every trip you embark on. And one of the simplest ways to make a difference? Packing light.

  • Lighter luggage reduces fuel consumption

  • Carrying fewer items eliminates unnecessary waste down the road

  • Investing in gear that lasts means less turnover and fewer products ending up in landfills

A mindful approach to packing can make a much greater difference than you may imagine. Here are some other ways to make a big impact:

  • Choose reusable over single-use plastics

  • Pack durable, long-lasting travel gear

  • Support brands that prioritize sustainability

  • Join a local beach cleanup when you can

Small shifts, real impacts.

Give Back While You Go

The ocean connects all of us. It’s where we reset, explore, and create the stories we carry home.

By supporting the Surfrider Foundation, we’re helping protect those experiences—not just for today, but for every trip still yet to come. Because the places that give us so much deserve to be cared for in return.

Help us turn everyday travel into something a little more meaningful: Through April 30 2026, every Sherpani purchase gives back to ocean conservation.

Pack well. Travel better. Leave less behind. And give a little something back along the way.
