Sherpani Mission Statement

Who is Sherpani?

Sherpani designs stylish and functional day bags, luggage, and travel accessories for women who believe in doing things their own way, with their own style. Whether you're hiking a favorite trail, meeting your crew for happy hour, or jet-setting for work or play, Sherpani bags are for every day and every adventure.

Our Roots

Our Roots

"Sherpani" comes from the Nepalese term for a female Sherpa. We are endlessly inspired by these expert mountain guides who lead expeditions in the Himalayas; living proof that women can reach any height. This fearless spirit is our guiding philosophy and the attitude we bring to everything we do.

We believe in following your passions, saying yes to adventure, and not being afraid to show off your knowledge and skills — whether you're blazing trails, shattering glass ceilings, or wrangling toddlers (or all three!), Sherpani bags are for women who define their own meaning of success.

Based in Boulder, Colorado, every Sherpani bag is stitched with Colorado’s alpine heritage. Sherpani bags are an expression of limitless freedom, endless exploration, and a deep belief that travel restores the human spirit.

Responsible Manufacturing

Our passion for respecting and protecting the planet is baked into everything we do, especially how we design and manufacture Sherpani bags.

Sherpani is an industry leader in the use of recycled fabrics, non-toxic dyes, fair labor agreements, and chemical restrictions. Our factories are regularly certified by Elevate Limited, which audits and addresses labor and social compliance, including environmental impact.

All Sherpani vendors must agree to Sherpani’s strict Code of Conduct. This covers child labor, forced labor, harassment and abuse, fair wages, hours and overtime, non-discrimination, and freedom of association.

Every day, Sherpani takes action to shape a sustainable and equitable future.

Sustainability

Sustainable Practices

Our dedication to sustainability doesn’t stop with responsible manufacturing.

Sherpani created the Blue Verve Project as a sustainable initiative to shed light on plastic pollution, the core environmental issue that speaks to us. We believe that healthy marine ecosystems are vital to human health and the enjoyment of our planet.

For our work in diverting ocean-bound plastic, Sherpani has won the Champion of Sustainability Award. This honor is bestowed by Repreve, the leading authority on sustainable yarns. Over the years, Sherpani has repurposed 7.6 million (& counting!) discarded plastic bottles into beautiful bags with remarkable functionality.

We also support sustainable initiatives in our community. Sherpani has sponsored Trash the Runway, a Boulder-based event that encourages teens to be resourceful, creative, and eco-friendly by creating clothing made from 100% non-recyclable trash.

Sherpani is dedicated to finding solutions to harmful environmental practices perpetuated by the business world. We have implemented carbon-neutral shipping on all orders placed through our e-commerce website, Sherpani.com.

Supporting Women

Supporting Women

At Sherpani, our mission is to empower each other in everything we do — from embracing freedom of expression to supporting education and equality worldwide. We support non-profits in the places where we do business: Boulder, Colorado, and Saigon, Vietnam.

Sherpani has been a sponsor of the Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) since 2014. EFAA is Boulder County’s leading provider of housing and food for vulnerable women and children who experience homelessness, abuse, and poverty.

Sherpani is a proud supporter of the Brighter Path Scholarship, which provides educational opportunities to disadvantaged young women in Vietnam. These women are the next generation of thought leaders, and they carry Sherpani bags into their classrooms every day.
Sherpani also supports Heartbeat Vietnam, an organization that funds life-saving heart operations for Vietnamese children from financially disadvantaged families. Sherpani offers yearly financial support to aid this important work.
