The Wayfarer's sling strap has a zipper down the middle that, when zipped open, splits into two backpack straps. To convert to backpack mode, unzip and adjust the straps to your preferred length. To switch back to a sling, just re-zip.

3. What's the difference between the Wayfarer and the Esprit AT?
Both are slings with a few noteworthy differences. The Esprit AT has a full set of anti-theft features—but wears on one shoulder only. The Wayfarer has an ‘ambidextrous’ design, meaning it can be worn on either shoulder, and it converts to a backpack.
